Mental Health

This is and will be huge. The idea that life will not continue ‘as normal’ for our world is hard to wrap your head around. Especially if you have children or grandchildren.

If you are feeling like the thought of it is too much in this moment, reach out to available services:

Lifeline: 13 11 14 Beyond Blue: 1300 22 4636 Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800

As large as our situation may initially feel, once you start being aware of what is going on with our climate and the very real situation we are facing, you will then most likely start to want to know ‘What can I do?’. If you’ve made it to this website, then you are already taking the first positive steps to reclaiming agency over the future of this beautiful place. Action can bring hope, but we also need to make the space for the grief we will possibly feel.

Climate grief circles have been popping up all over the world as places where people can come together to share their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

There are a number of organisations exploring ways to help people cope with the full realisation of what climate change will mean, some of these include:

The Good Grief Network https://www.goodgriefnetwork.org/

Psychology for a Safe Climate https://www.psychologyforasafeclimate.org/ this organisation run regular Zoom sessions with psychologists who recognise climate change and want to support people through their emotions as they engage with it.
