There is a lot to learn from our Indigenous people about managing and caring for our country. Indigenous burning practices are one of the most interesting things for us to think about living near the Otways, which are a hugely important carbon sink that needs to be protected at all costs.

The Apollo Bay WordFest is bringing Victor Steffensen, author of Fire Country, down to talk at Warm Winter Words for 2022. He will talk about his work on cultural burning and ways to change our thinking.
